2009 Georgia Apple Festival

ELLIJAY CELEBRATES 38 FUN-FILLED YEARS!

The Ellijay Lions Club, the Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce, the cities of Ellijay and East Ellijay, and Gilmer County invite everyone to come and enjoy the 38th year of the Georgia Apple Festival. There are over 300 vendors with handmade, hand-crafted items, as well as many on-site demonstrations of how selected types of crafts are made. This year promises many new crafts as well as favorites from past festivals. There is a parade and antique car show each year. The antique car show is held at the Civic Center on October 10th. The parade is on the second Saturday, October 17th and begins at 10 A.M.

A two and one half mile round trip ride by railroad motor car traveling through the Iron Bridge over the beautiful Toccoa River, then returning over the bridge to the Historic Mineral Bluff Depot. Model railroad display, food vendors and more.

Mountain Harvest Sale,
Blue Ridge Farmer's Market, 3rd and 4th weekend in October
Sponsored by the Fannin County Homemaker's Council, the Mountain Harvest Sale features local arts, crafts, food and fun on two separate October weekends.

Blue Ridge Mountain Photographers National Juried Nature and Fine Art Photography Exhibit. 100's of photographers from across the nation participate in this wonderful display of photographic excellence. A prize pool of $2000 will be awarded at the opening reception on September 10. Deadline for entry is June 15, 2011. Oct 15 - Nov 12		Southern Appalachian Artist Guild Event at Blue Ridge Mountains Art Association
The Southern Appalachian Artist Guild National Juried Show will open October 15 in the Richard Low Evans Gallery at The Art Center in Blue Ridge, GA. John Cram, well-known gallery entrepeneur in Ashville, NC will judge the applications from all across the nation. Last year there were entries from 25 states and over 500 artworks submitted. Deadline for artist entry is July 31 and the prospectus in online at The Art Center website. Come out and meeting the artist, enjoy food, entertainment and very fine art from all across the nation.
