Top 5 Reasons to come to the Blue Ridge Mountains this Summer
As you look to make a quick getaway before school starts back up…look no further than the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia and Southeast Tennessee!
In case you need a little convincing, here are our top ten reasons (in no particular order) to make your plans to escape to the Blue Ridge Mountains this summer.
(1) It’s close to home.
We are located just two hours north of Atlanta and 75 minutes east of Chattanooga. When you feel that your normal summer destinations are just “too far to drive” and yet you feel the need to escape from home and everything that goes along with it…we are the perfect compromise.
(2) Adventure awaits.
For the part of us that longs to enjoy the great outdoors, there’s plenty of places and activities. Whether you are trying it for the first time or you’re a living legend, there is something exciting here for you.
-Whitewater Rafting on the Olympic Ocoee River
-Tubing on the tranquil Toccoa River
-Horseback Riding through the North Georgia Mountains
-Trek endless miles of hiking and biking trails
(3) Okay, so maybe you’re not so adventurous after all.
If you enjoy our gorgeous mountains and rivers for scenery instead of recreation, there is still a weekend full of fun and entertainment here in the area.
-Local live music and theater performances
-A local history museum…the best $3.00 you’ll ever spend!
-Shopping for handcrafted furniture, arts and crafts, souvenirs, antiques, and collectibles
-A classic drive-in movie theater
-Two scenic trains
-And more…
(4) And that’s not even including the top attraction…the Rental Cabin.
Our cabins all differ in personality and amenities, so there’s a good chance that you’ll find one you can escape to. We have cabins with pool tables, game tables, hi-speed internet, many with relaxing hot tubs, satellite or cable televisions, VCR and/or DVD players. Our cabins feature breathtaking mountain views, waterfront or tucked away in the woods.
All of our properties are equipped with the essentials…fully equipped kitchens, grills (either gas or charcoal) beds and bedding, towels, furnished bathrooms…etc.
(5) Rental Cabins are Reasonably Priced
If you are bringing up a group for a weekend (or longer), you’ll find that cabins are competitive with hotel rooms, especially considering that you’re getting an entire house for just a little more (sometimes even less!) than what you would spend to get hotel room(s) for your entire group. We have cabins starting as low as $100 per night and going up from there. And again…you’re getting a whole house…

A Big Thank You
A Big Thank You to our guests who came to stay with us in the Ocoee River Region for Independence Weekend. We have received a lot of positive, encouraging feedback that not only helps us to do our job, but also do it better.
Also many thanks to all of the musicians, street vendors, business owners, and local officials who worked to pull off great events we saw in both Copperhill on the 3rd and Ducktown on the 5th.
We hope that you will consider returning next year for what hopes to be an even better 4th of July Weekend.
